Die Schweizer Jazzmusiker Robert Morgenthaler und Jean-Jacques Pedretti arbeiten im Projekt „Windbone“ als Duo mit Alphörnern, Posaunen, Muschelhorn und Percussion zusammen.
Beide sind darüber hinaus für ihre Mitarbeit bei „roots of communication“, Erika Stucky, dem Duo Morgenthaler/Röllin, dem Alphorntio „Zürihorn“ oder dem „L’invisible Trio“ bekannt.
Musikalisch – kosmopolitisch verbinden sie die Musik verschiedener Kulturen. Sie bringen ihre verschiedenen, langjährigen Erfahrungen mit afrikanischer Musik, mit Klassik, freier Improvisation und Jazz in neue, oft im Spiel miteinander entstandene eigene Formen ein.

The Swiss jazz musician Robert Morgenthaler, Jean-Jacques Pedretti founded in 2007 the Project “Windbone”, a duo with alpine horns, trombones, percussion and conch shells.
Both are known in addition to their involvement in “roots of communication”, Erika Stucky’s „Bubble family“, the new Jazzduo Morgenthaler/Röllin, the Alphorntrio “Zürihorn” or the “Trio L’invisible”.
Her intention was to leave the beaten track of alphorn music and, without denying the tradition, exploring the hidden possibilities of this legendary instrument. Musically – they combine, in a cosmopolitan way, the music of different cultures. They bring their different long-term experience with swiss music, african music, classical music, free improvisation and jazz and transform it into new original music.
Rarely is the encounter between native sounds and music of the future as sovereign as by Morgenthaler and Pedretti. “Virtuoso sound researchers with a strong talent for making music dialectical.” (Jazz Magazine)

Ce duo de trombones multiplie les expériences inattendues: improvisations, humour, recherche(s) sur le(s) son(s), goût des extrêmes. Venus de part et d’autre du “Röstigraben”, les deux sujets, histoire de combler leurs lacunes linguistiques réciproques, agissent et communiquent sur scène au moyen de leur propre langage intitulé esperanbone. Toujours à la recherche de l’environnement acoustique idéal, ils improvisent et se (re)mettent en jeu dans un programme qui tend à l’essentiel.
